## What Dragon Fest Berlin is

Dragon Fest is **Berlin's first pan-Asian culture festival** — a two-day, family- and dog-friendly event celebrating cultures from across Asia. For a thousand years, the dragon has moved through Asia as a sign of prosperity, strength and abundance. Dragon Fest brings that arrival to Berlin with dragon and lion dance troupes, K-Pop crews, traditional Chinese strings (guzheng and erhu), Vietnamese live music, Japanese taiko drums, Wushu, and closing Bollywood × Asian fusion and Southeast Asian electronic DJ sets.

The October date is deliberate: it sits inside the traditional **Chinese Mid-Autumn** and **Korean Chuseok** window, when families across East and Southeast Asia gather under lanterns. Berlin gets its own version of that weekend.

Around the stage, five pan-Asian kitchens: **Mr. Quicky (bao & rice bowls), IBC (biryani & Indo-Chinese), Mangan (Indonesian street food), Chao She (northern Chinese) and Khaugallli (Indo-Chinese street)** — plus a lantern-lit market of independent Asian makers and a dedicated kids' zone.

It is organised by **Wedesi Berlin**, a global community platform for expats and global citizens in Berlin. Wedesi festivals — Holi in Berlin, Diwali in Berlin, The Great Indian Food Festival, and now Dragon Fest — brought together **50,000+ people in 2025**, making Wedesi one of the largest cultural festival organisers in Berlin and a top organiser on Eventbrite.

## The stage — full lineup

- **Dragon & Lion Dance Troupe** — acrobatic dance in the Guangdong tradition; the ceremonial opening and closing acts on both days
- **Guzheng & Erhu Ensemble** — ancient Chinese 21-string zither and two-string bowed fiddle, played live
- **K-Pop Showcase** — Berlin's tightest K-Pop dance crews, back-to-back; different crews Saturday and Sunday
- **Hanoi Live** — a live Vietnamese music set from diaspora artists based in Berlin
- **Taiko Drum Collective** — Japanese taiko drums; big drums, huge sound
- **Wushu Collective** — traditional martial-arts choreography in the Beijing tradition (weapons forms, empty-hand routines, paired sets)
- **Bollywood × Asian Fusion DJ** — Bollywood and Bhangra cut with pan-Asian pop
